Learning About Dishwashers

Hello, my name is Brandy Khane. I created this site to talk about dishwashers of all kinds. Growing up, we only had a single sink to do the dishes in. All of the kids took turn scrubbing, drying and putting away the dishes after every meal. If we skipped a washing session, the dishes piled up out of control. Today, I use a dishwasher to complete most of the washing session for me. I can clean other areas of the house while the dishwasher works hard for me. I would like to share all of the features and functions found on modern dishwashing appliances. I will also talk about installation techniques on this site.

Top 6 Benefits Of Burglar Alarms

If you're considering a burglar alarm for your home, there's no better option to secure your family and belongings. Burglar alarms don't just stop intruders. Here are six benefits of burglar alarm systems:

1. Burglary Prevention

Burglar alarms are a great way to stop an intruder while they're breaking into your home since the alarms alert authorities. But did you know they actually prevent burglaries? A Rutgers study in 2009 found that burglary rates decreased as the purchase of burglary alarms went up. Installing a burglar system for your home doesn't just protect you, but your entire neighborhood.

2. Flood Damage Minimization

Advanced burglary alarm systems come with many features including flood detection. In the event that the alarm detects a flood, it will place a call to a local plumber or to your water company. You can program the system to call whomever you choose in the event of a flood. The system can also do the same for other types of leaks including gas leaks.

3. Fire Alarms

Burglary systems have built-in fire alarms. Unlike regular smoke detectors, they don't just make a sound when they detect a fire. Burglar systems also monitor the air for carbon monoxide. When smoke or carbon monoxide is detected, the system calls the fire department. This will save the lives of you and your family in the event that a fire starts while you're sleeping or you can't get out.

4. Surveillance Systems

Burglar alarm systems come with surveillance. Surveillance systems let you keep an eye on your home when you're away. You can use surveillance systems to check to make sure doors are locked or to see if anyone's home. The main benefit of surveillance is the ability to see what's going on if one of your alarms go off. You can check for an intruder, a fire, or a flood which prevents unnecessary calls to emergency services.

5. Insurance Discounts

You can get discounts and save on monthly homeowner's insurance premiums when you install a burglary system. These savings vary by your insurance company and the area in which you live. However, you may qualify for a homeowner's insurance discount of up to 15%.

6. Complete Control

Get complete control of your home even when you're away. Many burglary systems link your home's electronics with your smart phone. This allows you to turn your lights on and off or to turn the TV off if you forgot. This also gets you big savings on your heating and cooling bills. For example, in the winter, you can keep your heat low all day and turn it up remotely before you come home.
